What you’ll do
In this role, you will work on design, simulation, and analysis for our Rendezvous, Proximity operations, and Docking mission. You will be involved in defining mission parameters and identifying key mission requirements as part of development of a complex mission. Your work will involve simulating mission scenarios and verification of mission-level requirements against system constraints. This role requires a strong technical background in orbital mechanics and hands-on experience with mission simulation.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize mission CONOPs to support all mission phases including launch, commissioning, RPOD and end-of-life planning
- Conduct analyses and trades to validate mission requirements across multiple mission architectures and satellite configurations
- Perform modeling, simulation, analysis, and optimization of orbit design, RPO maneuvers, and docking window design
- Perform critical trade studies that drive early design decisions balancing performance, cost, schedule, and risk
- Collaborate with Systems, GNC and subsystem teams to translate mission requirements into system and subsystem level requirements
What we look for
Minimum requirements
- Strong understanding of orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, and space environment
- 2+ years of experience in mission design and analysis
- Hands-on experience with STK for mission design and analysis
- Programming proficiency in at least one high-level language (MATLAB, Python, C++)
- You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments, adapt quickly, and enjoy solving hard problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in simulation and analysis for RPO, formation flying, or docking missions
- Understanding of spacecraft GNC design
- Experience with additional mission design tools (GMAT, Freeflyer, or Orekit)
